Picture this: I’m on stage in front of an audience of 2,000 people who’ve come to hear me speak about spirituality and personal development.

They’re an eager crowd.

The first words out of my mouth are:

It’s go time! There’s no more time for playing small. There’s no more time for ignoring that pattern or addictive behavior. There’s no more time for ignoring the diagnosis. There’s no more time for staying in the relationship that’s causing you harm. There’s no more time for playing small people. It’s go time!

This talk was so moving to me that I had to share a clip with you.

It took place a year ago in Tampa, Florida and it was the first time I shared about the contents of my new book, Self Help, This is Your Chance to Change Your Life.

I went deep fast!

This talk will crack open to what’s possible in your life.

Here’s something I said on stage:

When we crack open, we let the light in. And when we let that light in we become lightworkers. We have the energy and the power and the momentum to show up not just for ourselves but for the world.

If you’re feeling a call to release the patterns and beliefs that hold you back then this is a talk you’ll want to hear.

It’s go time!

In this episode you’ll learn:

  • What is ‘go time’ and how can you can begin to apply that to your own life
  • That the first step is just to ‘take notice’
  • What it means to ‘stop playing small”
  • How to begin to compassionately befriend these parts that hold limiting beliefs

how to stop playing small and manifest your dreams

[00:00:00] The following podcast is a dear media production.

Hey there. Welcome to dear Gabby. I'm your host, Gabby Bernstein. And if you landed here, it is absolutely no accident. It means that you're ready to feel good and manifest a life beyond your wildest dreams. Let's get started.

So we're in the studio with Joshie and I'm in full blown. Bad attitude day. I don't know what the hell is going on with you. I'm in a bad attitude, so we'll work it out. Yeah, let's work it out. But we gotta work it out. But I've been, now I'm a gaffer. You're totally a gaffer. I'm a gaffer, which means I, I look like the lighting.

I literally have been the most controlling this whole time, but I think we got the lighting right. And for those of you listening, you don't even give a shit. All right. But we're here in the studio going to try to turn my, [00:01:00] my bad, my bad attitude around today. And we have a really cool episode. This is like our most produced episode.

Well, that's what I was about to say. We're going to turn the attitude around because this is a really awesome thing to talk about today. It's an awesome thing to talk about. It's something that we are going to try to do more of. I think we should. Yeah. As many of you listening know, my primary vocation other than writing books is as a motivational speaker.

And so we have in the past shared some of my talks on the podcast. And Josh and I are doing something super cool now, which is we're going to share a clip from a talk and then we're going to deconstruct it together in conversation. And this is a clip from a talk I gave a year ago. We're going to tee up this episode with this five minute clip.

And it was The first time I spoke about my new book, which is coming out in December, Self Help, This is Your Chance to Change Your Life, was the first time I introduced self help to a live audience. And I actually did it by accident. The talk was supposed to be about happy days, my previous [00:02:00] book, but I was writing self help at the time.

I always like to workshop live on stage, whatever I'm writing about, because it's on my mind. It's like what's happening. And so while I should be talking about the previous book, I couldn't, I had so much that I wanted to share about self help. So here I was on the stage and boom, here, I busted it out and I started talking about this, this, this topic from the book.

This is a five minute clip that. I really felt was a valuable conversation starter for you and I today and you love it. I love it. It's, it's, it's called it's go time. I, you know, having listened to the whole talk, it, Takes so much of what you were saying about the book and it distills it down into some really amazing things that we can talk about specifically without going into the whole book, but it gives us really cool things to talk about.

This one specifically tees up the urgency of the why, why we need to Step into our greatest inner [00:03:00] power now more than ever. I was going to say that cause it's about the now it's about the now. And I did something super cool too, which is if you're inspired by this clip and the way that we talk about it, I actually took 20 minutes of the talk.

You, you edited it. And we are giving it as a bonus gift for people that preorder my book before September 26th. So when you go to dearGabby.com/selfhelp, you can preorder the book. Get this bonus, which is the 20 minute full version of this talk, plus you get enrolled in a full day self help masterclass with me, November 16th.

We're going to be in the studio. There'll be thousands and thousands of people all throughout the world that have all pre ordered the book. And then that day I'm going to bring the book to life. And this is the pre order event, the big event. And to be super clear, pre order, you get the big event on November 16th.

And if you pre order before September 26th. You get this extra bonus. Which is the full version of this talk. So go to [00:04:00] dearGabby.com/selfhelp. Now after this, whatever, go do your pre order, get this full listen. You're not going to want to miss this, but we're going to give you a little clip of it right now in the clip, I'm going to break down for you.

Why? Right here, right now. It's go time. It's go time!

There's no more time for playing small. There's no more time for ignoring that pattern or that addictive behavior. There's no more time for avoiding the diagnosis. There's no more time for staying in the relationship that's causing you harm. There's no more time for playing small people. It's go time.

And not only is it go time for us, but it's go time for those of us in these rooms, because those of us in these rooms are the ones who have cracked open to the possibility. And when we crack open, we let the light in. And when we let that light in, we become light workers. We have the energy and the power and the momentum [00:05:00] to show up, not just for our own lives, but for the world, for the people in our lives, for the children in our lives, for people we don't even know.

Every human we encounter is an impact. Our energy matters. You want to change the world, change your energy.

And so as I, uh, Work on this book I'm writing right now, which is my 10th book in 13 years. I don't know how that happened. And I'm working on this 10th book. It's called self help.

What we need most. I'm deep deep in the go time work. Because many of you are sitting here and you're like, yeah Gabby, you know, there's something in my [00:06:00] life that isn't in alignment with what I want. Yeah. Yeah. So what's the belief system that's holding you back from attracting what it is that you desire?

What is that belief system? Tell me. Not enough money. Okay, what else? Not worthy. Not good enough. What else? Fear. I don't know how. Someone else is doing it. Pride. What else? Control. I know that one. Anyone else? Too old? Oh, get over that. Okay. How old was Louise when she started here, Reed? Sixty. Yeah, get over it, okay?

I'm just kidding, I'm saying that with a lot of love. But Louise, Louise is saying it through me now, okay? So, so, those, no, but actually I really want to come back to that. I don't actually want to say just get over that, that's a joke, I'm totally kidding. I'm kidding. I want to befriend that [00:07:00] part of you that thinks that oh, I'm too old for this.

I want to teach you how to befriend the parts of you that still don't believe. Because if we do, I was really joking, because if we do do that, what I just said, oh, get over that. Oh, get over that. Move on. Calm down. Have you ever told yourself when you're anxious, oh, just calm down. The anxious part of you is like, F off.

So I, I love that that happened because it's actually the opposite of what I'm teaching you today. There's no get over it. It's befriending it. It's recognizing that the parts of us that don't believe yet are just parts of us. They're not who we really are. They're stories from the past. They're protection mechanisms.

There are parts of us that are keeping us small to protect us. Protect us from impermissible, exiled feelings from our past. [00:08:00] And I, I'm sure anyone in this room has done some amount of personal growth work, that you're somewhat aware of the experience from your childhood that was the catalyst for you to be in a belief system today of fear, or lack, or financial insecurity, or I'm too old, or I'm not good enough.

Yeah, you know where that came from, right? And so when we start to relate to our experiences and our behaviors and our disbelief and our blocks and our addictions and our patterns and our reactivity and all these different ways that we are that we judge ourselves for day over day over day, when we begin to relate to those parts of ourselves from the place of compassion and connection and courage, connectedness, clarity, creativity, and calmness.

We can befriend them. We can befriend every part of who we are and we can recognize that there's no bad parts of us. They're just burdened. They've just [00:09:00] been telling themselves the same story for decades. They've just been stuck in a somatic experience that's triggered and fearful.

They've just been protecting, protecting, protecting you from feeling or facing into deeper wounds.
What I'm teaching you right now is A therapeutic model called internal family systems therapy. And I've been trained in IFS throughout the last few years. I have been personally transformed in, in many ways, transmuted, recycled, and rebirthed as a result of being in internal family systems therapy for a decade, over a decade with my therapist, and then befriending Dick Schwartz, the founder of this model, and being trained in it.

Thank you. What I'm teaching you is what I call self help. You know, I love getting nerdy about things, so here I [00:10:00] go. Did you know that the biggest discovery of our time for promoting healthy aging and enhancing our physical prime is a class of ingredients called senolytics? When I heard about this, it really got my attention. I had to know everything about it, right?

It's a product that can combat aging. Are you kidding me? You see, when we age, we accumulate what are called senescent cells. They're kind of known as zombie cells. And these are going to really create some of those early signs of aging, like aches and discomfort, slow workout recovery, sluggish mental and physical energy associated with middle aged feeling.

Freak! Okay. So Qualia Senolytic, it removes those worn out, sentient cells. They have a 100 day money back guarantee, so it's incredible. They have a new research on aging and longevity, including a clinical study on qualia senolytic that shows senolytic supplementation can play a huge role in enhancing how we age.

So resist aging at the [00:11:00] cellular level with qualia senolytics. Go to qualialife.com/gabby for free. 50 percent off and use code Gabby at checkout for an additional 15 percent off. For your convenience, Qualia Synalytic is also available at select GNC locations near you. That's qualialife.com/gabby for an extra 15 percent off your purchase.

Thanks to Qualia for sponsoring today's episode. This show is sponsored by cotton. If you're listening to this show right now, then I have to assume that you're like me and you tend to be drawn to more natural things in life. Like cotton. Cotton is natural and comes from the earth. Because it's natural, it doesn't contribute to microplastic pollution, people.

And I have to tell you. I had no idea that synthetics like polyester are actually made from crude oil. And every time we wash synthetics like this, we are [00:12:00] actually contributing to adding microplastics to our waterways, which is exactly why I'm going all in on cotton. So I'm committing to living in the now, and making the natural choice with the fabric of our lives. First off, I'm going to make sure that we use cotton products wherever we can, and there's nothing more comfortable or gentle than cotton. And it just gives me the ability to just be in that cozy feeling, but also knowing I'm not polluting. I'm talking about sheets, bedding.

There's nothing better than cotton sheets. They're so soft. They're so light. And we're going to swap out paper towels for reusable cotton towels, cotton bags to take to the supermarket, just anywhere I can. I'm making cotton my number one choice. Cotton's versatile. It's long lasting, it's timeless, and it's just so much better for the environment.

So remember to check the label for cotton and take a deep breath and focus on the present. Cotton is the fabric of now. Learn more at the fabric of our lives. com. There are a lot of things that go into [00:13:00] really optimizing your health, right? So we talk about diet, we talk about exercise, sleeping right, but you can't forget about something really, really crucial.

You cannot forget about hydration. It is really important to make sure that you're healthy and that you're hydrated. And that's why I'm really proud to have Element as one of our sponsors on the show. I have Element on Facebook. a regular order. Every month I get packages and packages of this incredible electrolyte.

My husband's like, your salt is here. It's like literally packages of these amazing electrolytes that just get us exactly what we need. There's no sugar, no artificial colors, no dodgy ingredients. It's formulated for anyone on a mission to restore health through hydration. And there was a while where I was doing a lot of heavy lifting.

I lift heavy weights now. I mean, 15 pounds is heavy for me, and maybe sometimes I get to 20, and I'm doing a lot of saunas, and there was a point where I was forgetting to take my element, and I was achy. Like, my, my, I wasn't recovering as fast. I was kind of feeling like low energy. I wasn't sleeping. I was [00:14:00] sleeping as well.

Boom. I was like, Gabby, get your electrolytes on, sister. So here I am back with my element routine and you can get your free element sample pack with any purchase today at drinkelmnt.com/Gabby. That's drinkelmnt.com/Gabby. Also try the element sparkling, a bold 16 ounce can of sparkling electrolyte water.

Oh my God, I love that. It's so good. As I mentioned, this is one of my favorite clips. I love it because it's so specific and it gives you an opportunity to really distill down the message. And that's really my first question for you, which is. You talk about go time, explain what you mean exactly about go time.

Yeah. I think that the message here in this talk is that we can't play small anymore. [00:15:00] We can't hide out anymore. We can't ignore the patterns that have held us back. We can't avoid the addictive behaviors or the extreme patterns or the things that we keep falling back to. It's time for us. particularly anybody that's listening to Dear Gabby or raising their hand and wanting to read a book called Self Help, it's go time for us because we've all signed a sacred contract in this lifetime that we want to go big, we want to be of service, we want to serve our souls, we want to show up for our lives, and we can't play small anymore.

And so in that message today, in this little clip was, you know, Let's go. Let's go. And the, and the go time doesn't mean we push forward. It doesn't mean that we go try to make something happen or force ourselves into being something different. What it means is that we actually turn inward and start to do the deeper inner work that is [00:16:00] required for us Take that next level in our life.

The only way we can up level is to in level first. Oh, I love that. In level. In leveling. My God. Who knew? Yeah. In leveling. I don't know if I love it. We're going to come back to that one. I like it. So. I'd like to also point out that Lois is in the house. Okay, Josh's mom shows up as like bugs. She's like always a fly on his, fly on the wall.

There's a fly in this room that will not leave and it's Lois. It's Lois. She's here. Lois is here. You talk also about playing small in the clip. What was the moment when you realized, like, I can no longer do this, I cannot play small anymore? Because I think that's a really important thing for us to understand.
I think it's been recently. I think recently I've been looking at the compromises I might have been making in my life. and sort of the perceptions I may have been placing upon myself and just sort of made this commitment [00:17:00] inside that's like, I don't want to do that anymore. I'm not going to, I'm not going to accept that anymore.

I'm going to create a boundary here. I'm going to have higher expectations of myself, of others, of, of, of the ways that I want to show up. I think it's been really recent that, that I've had that commitment. I think I've always thought that I was not playing small and maybe on the outside, it looks like I wasn't, but right here, right now, I think that the commitment that I'm to democratize this therapy.

And to go out and be, you know, this woman who has no, has no credentials as a therapist, but I have been trained in IFS, to go out and take this model and to have the balls to go out and say, I'm going to, and the chutzpah to say, I'm going to go turn this into self help, this world renowned therapy. And then to, it's one thing to write the book.

It's another thing to print the book. And then it's the next thing to actually go out and deliver the book to [00:18:00] the world. And so I think this point of delivery that we're in the precipice of right now, books coming out December 31st, pre orders, I'm talking about it. It's, this is go time for me because this is something, it's a detour from what I've done in the past.

And it's the most important teachings I can offer because it's taking the deep, deep. deep healing work that is required for us to live with sobriety, to recover from trauma, to heal the patterns that block us, to stop the addictive behaviors, to no longer play small. And so I guess in my commitment to not playing small, I'm helping other people do the same.

So basically you from not playing small, you went huge. Yeah, but you know how I am. I'm only, I'm here for, I'm here for the big guns here. I'm here for the big stuff. And for those of us, the rest of us, like, how would we begin to sort of identify? Like, Oh, you know what, I'm playing small in this part of my life and I want to move away from that and move towards great question.

[00:19:00] Are you stuck in a pattern that is holding you back? Are you In extreme behaviors that you. Judge yourself for later on in life or later on in the day. Are you acting out in your relationships? Are you upper limiting yourself? Like what I mean by that is are you getting to a place where you feel like there's this next step and then you kind Of stop it or you think it's too good to be true.

Are you? Not feeling free inside. Do you walk through life feeling as though there's burdens inside? belief systems that are not in alignment with who you want to be. Check, check, check, check, check, check, check, check out of that. You know, you're doing a lot of personal development. You hang out with me a lot.

You do a lot of your own work. You'll have him for your life, but I'm sure there's something in that list that resonates. Oh yeah. No, for me, for sure. And you know, one of the, what came to mind and this isn't necessarily for me, but just in general is [00:20:00] the idea of worthiness, right? Like when you don't feel worthy, is that an example of not of playing small?

Yeah, and I think that we can. adjust the playing small a little bit because we're Not going to be able to go big unless we address the root cause of why we're playing small And so let's take away the the attitude of playing small and make it more compassionate There's areas of our life where we're not living at our highest potential.

Why? Because we have belief systems that are out of alignment with what we really want, who we want to be. Those belief systems are very young. They've been around for a very long time and they carry the burdens of childhood experiences that we never actually processed. So here we are, we're living in and out of these beliefs that are not in alignment with what we really want.

And so that feels like we're playing small, that feels like we're avoiding, that feels like we have more reasons to judge ourselves because we're not [00:21:00] showing up at our highest capacity. But I want to take away all that judgment and just offer the listener a chance to recognize that there is a healing path.

It's all in the pages of self help. I mean, the four step method that we're going to be talking about for the next nine, nine months is the answer. So the message today is, When we take that commitment, I think this is the core message of this episode is the way to stop playing small. The way to step in is to turn inward is to go in.

So would you say that's step one, right? Is to turn to recognize that there's nothing outside of yourself that you can do to fix the issues that you're having on the inside. The internal shift has to happen with what is going on. laid out inside the pages of self help. Also in the full talk that you can get when you pre order the book, you get this full talk and I introduced the four steps of the self help check in.

At the time, it was actually three steps. I've changed it to now four steps. And it's really an inquiry. It's, it's extending a connection and compassion and [00:22:00] curiosity inside. And so for today's conversation, I really just want to let the, Listener as we pace and track with this book because we're just sort of in this pre phase of books not out yet So people aren't holding it.

I can kind of give you the insight that this early conversation is to recognize The reasons that we are not living at our highest potential are not because we're bad. It's not because we're not good enough It's not because we should be ashamed or or blame ourselves or live in fear. It's because we've been living with beliefs that are young and those young beliefs need healing and that if you can just witness that first today, if that's it, that we all get, that's all we get out of this episode is I've got these belief systems and they're not who I am.

They're just burdened beliefs that have been around for a long time and that Gabby's telling me I have the power to heal these belief systems. She has a plan for me, but today my only job is to accept and [00:23:00] recognize it's not me that's playing small. It's not me that's bad. It's not me that's the addict.
It's a part of me that's, that's showing up in my life as a result of a belief system I carry.

It's a condition called hypoactive sexual desire disorder. Or HSDD, which in regular people terms translate to frustrating low libido. [00:25:00] HSDD impacts 1 in 10 women. Women who used to enjoy sex, but suddenly don't anymore. And they can't figure out why. For women who are hearing this message, who are saying, wait, that's me.

Your obstacle, it just became a detour in the right direction. That's because there is now an FDA approved option for certain pre menopausal women to address HSDD. It's called ADDyi, and it's the number one prescribed treatment for HSDD, aka frustrating low libido. During clinical trials, ADDyi was shown to improve desire, reduce stress from low desire, and increase the number of satisfying sexual events.

I wanna learn more. Head over to Addyi's website ad Y i.com to see if Addyi is right for you. That's a DDY i.com. Addyi is not for use in men or to enhance sexual performance. Your risk of severe low blood pressure and fainting is increased if you drink one to two standard alcoholic drinks close in time to your Addyi dose.

That's A D D Y I dot com. If you're loving this episode about IFS, I've got to tell you, I've got so much more where this came from. It might feel like, whoa, this is a big topic, Abbey. Guess what I've done? As you [00:27:00] know, I have translated it, I have demystified it, I have democratizing it inside my new book, Self Help, This is Your Chance to Change Your Life.

With Dick's blessing, I have taken the IFS model and informed a self help practice that is based on the principles of IFS. Again, this is not IFS, it's self help, but it's using the principles of IFS. So if you, my friends, are inspired, interested, if you notice that self quality of curiosity coming through you right now, then head over to DearGabby.com/selfhelp, get this, pre order the book, and then you'll get a free full day self help masterclass with me. If you're like, this is cool, I'm into it, just Go to DearGabby.com/selfhelp. I'm just freaking out with excitement to share this with you. Go go go there now. I love you.

I love you. I love you. I can't wait to see you on the 16th. DearGabby.com/selfhelp.[00:28:00]

I love that so much. The way, again, you sort of break it down. I'm just going to repeat it back to you as a lay person. So for me, step one is to really stop for a second and like you said, turn inward and see what that part of me. That what is the part that's holding me back or what is it that's judging or what is that and just identify it.

That's all I have to do. Right. It's just see where it is. Is that what you said? That's correct. I think it's today just about witnessing the beliefs that are holding you back. So a belief for me, you know, my belief, it's that, you know, that I have to do everything. No one else is going to do it. It's still holding me back.

I mean, even. just frustrations when, when I walk in in the lighting and I'm fixing that and I'm the gaff girl today, you know, and instead of carrying the belief of the burden belief of, Oh, I have to do it. I should, I can, I want to step into the belief that, Oh, well, I'm super capable and it's okay. Not everybody's wanting it the same way I want it, but I'm gonna, I'll, when [00:29:00] I have the power to show up, I'll show up.

It's the great serenity prayer. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. And so for me, as I heal that burdened belief, the unburdened part of me that no longer would carry that belief of everybody having to do this for me, that part of me, as it heals, can start to claim that Well, I have the courage to know the difference.

I can, I can recognize the things I cannot change and I have the courage to change the things I can. So I can change the lighting today if I want to. Yeah. As you're saying that, I'm like, what, what is it? What is the playing on the loop in my head? Right. Like I'm trying to identify it for myself. And for me, like, it comes up as like, everything has to be perfect.

Like don't make a mistake. It's gotta be perfect. Make sure everything's aligned. It's ready go, you know, and. Like you said, that holds you back. That holds me back because I'm, it also [00:30:00] makes you nervous. It makes you nervous. I make me, makes me nervous. Right? Exactly. Yeah. And you know how old that part of you is?

That's old. Yeah. The little guy. Yeah. That's a little one. He's been around for a long time. Yeah. And so when we do the self-help check in, well, you're gonna practice that in the book and everything. We, we would just first and foremost just notice that part of you. Mm-Hmm. notice. Okay. I have a part of me that thinks he needs to be perfect.

And then you would go into the next steps. This is all the work inside self help. Which is to choose to check in with that young part of you. And then to become a little curious about him, asking him some questions, or maybe he doesn't have a gender. Sometimes these parts of us don't have genders. And then to extend some compassion, asking that part what it needs.

And then we would check around and see how we feel after that and look for the self qualities of courage and calmness. And this is the very abbreviated cliff notes of this book. I'm teasing it for you people. That's a good point because [00:31:00] this. personal development work is really super deep. It is. And, and, and look, I'm taking a therapeutic process that is done in, you know, years and years of sessions of therapy and taking it out of the treatment room and into your audio book or into your print book and into your hands.

So that you can start to learn an IFS informed self help tool. So it's no small thing and it's safe. I've done it in a very safe way and in a way that's very gentle with the blessing of my mentor and the founder of IFS, Dr. Richard Schwartz. And it's going to change your life. I mean, there's no way that I would put that subject line, the subtitle, this is your chance to change your life.

If I didn't mean it, so I do have another question for you because in the clip, you also talk about being a light worker. What does that mean? Exactly. Well, I think that when we begin to heal our own inner world, we [00:32:00] feel the call to show up and help others. So, the big mission of self help is to let the book help all these individual readers out in the world start to do that inner work.

And as they heal, they relate to their children differently. They relate to their husbands and their partners and their wives differently. They show up at work differently. They can have moments of reflection rather than being flooded by these parts of themselves and becoming so blended with these parts of themselves that they act out all the time.

They can be the witness of these parts of themselves. Just like me today, you know, coming in witnessing, I'm, I'm not loving the lighting. I'm not loving the energy, whatever it is that I'm trying to control and witnessing that controlling part of myself, not happy, not loving it, calling it out, speaking for it rather than as it.

That's recovery. That's healing. Healing, being a healed person doesn't mean that you're never an asshole. It means that [00:33:00] you can speak for the parts of yourself with compassion. And I was just saying to Rhea, I was saying one of the great things about sitting here is I get to ask really selfish questions for myself, right?

And one of the things you mentioned, I am doing my own personal development work. I was wondering, how does that affect other people? Do you know what I mean? Because I do my work. Is there an effect on other people? You touched on that when we were talking about the light worker. Maybe you talk to your children a little bit differently, your husband or your spouse or Well, first and foremost, when you're doing your own inner work, you don't have to talk about it too much unless you have a receptive party.

So if you have a partner or friends or you don't want to necessarily shout it from the rooftops unless people are interested, right? Because otherwise, if you're trying to push it on people or share people with what you're doing, you can at times. feel like quite disappointed. You can at times feel quite disappointed because you may not get the feedback that you want or you may be too soon to share.

So be it. Just be it. [00:34:00] Do the inner work on yourself, make that commitment to your inner experience, to all the young children inside of you, all the, all the little people inside of you that have had so many big experiences, make a commitment to follow this practice. We were reading the audio book last week and in the studio, you and I, and as I read the book out loud, I'm realizing this is a, this is a kind of book that I think the reader is going to go back to a hundred times over.

And redo and redo and redo and redo. Yeah. I see dog eared copies of self help all over the world. Notes in the, in the corners. It's the kind of thing that you're going to want to master truly. Well, it's kind of like a workbook really. Right. I mean, I don't want to simplify it. Obviously it's a huge message, but like in it, there are the practices just a dawned on me.

Like, Oh, you should have an accompanied workbook. I should probably do that next. That's what you're probably thinking about. But yeah, so I think that, you know, to circle this conversation together, this message of it's go time. If you're here and [00:35:00] you're listening to this episode all the way through to the end, then there's a part of you that believes that.

You want more, you want to change something in your life, you're intrigued. And so that's what this episode is about. This episode is about just witnessing that there's a desire to change, that there's some parts of you that feel a little out of control, a little extreme, a little bit misaligned with who you want to be.

And that there is an answer. There is a practice that I'm going to get you there. But today's message is really about accepting that it's go time, accepting that we have this, this opportunity to live in this life in a different way when we do the deeper inner work. And. As we close out this conversation about this specific thing, what comes to mind is vulnerability.

Like how does vulnerability then play into this process? Any type of personal development work is vulnerable work because it's asking of us to look closely at parts of us that are scared, [00:36:00] particularly in self help. It's a very vulnerable process, which is why I highly recommend. Going slow, taking your time, and it's interesting because I do always recommend therapy and that we accompany our self help work with therapy and I really do, but there's something so valuable about doing the self help work because for me, I often found that it would be hard for me to check in with these experiences from my past in front of someone.

It's twofold, but building that inner therapist inside is what this book is about. Building that inner parent inside, that inner healer inside of you is what this message from this book is about. So today is about accepting that it's go time. Today is about witnessing that there are beliefs that are holding you back.

And then the next step is the courageous step of, of opening a book that has the answers for how you contend to these beliefs that have held you back. I love that because what you said resonates so much with me that like Some of these things I don't want to do [00:37:00] outside of myself. Like, I don't, I want to just, it's a very personal thing.

Like, I want to just sort of investigate and be curious about it on my own. Yeah, I think that there's safety sometimes in doing it with ourself. And that's what I want to have the experience of that feeling come through. So let's leave it at that. I think if you're intrigued about this and you want to dive deep now, you don't have to wait for the book to come out to get started on the self help practice.
