Letting go of control and surrendering trust to the Universe isn’t something I’ve always been able to do. 

When I was in college my best friends were creative pot smokers who didn’t have a care in the world. They were super chill, to say the least. But you know who wasn’t chill? 

Yours truly! I was a head case, constantly trying to control everything. 

“Gabby, why are you so controlling? Just relax!” they’d say. 

In retrospect, I have a lot of love and compassion for college Gabby. She wasn’t controlling. She was scared. 

What I’ve come to understand is that we control things to feel safe.

In this episode I teach one of the fastest ways to let go of control. It’s an old Dear Gabby method from 2006! 

This OG method is called the 3 Rs and it’s designed to help you rapidly process and release uncomfortable feelings in 90 seconds! 

The 3 Rs stands for Recognize, Record, Release.

It’s simple. All you need is to have a small journal on hand throughout the day. (Or you can use the Notes app in your iPhone.) 

The next time you notice a negative controlling thought come up, do this:

Write it down in a journal.

Say a prayer, “Thank you, Universe, for transforming this fear and helping me release it now.”
