Appreciation is the topic of today’s Dear Gabby, and this is one of my FAVORITE topics of all time. Leaning into appreciation is truly the fastest way to manifest your desires and to feel good!
if you stay in the energy of appreciation, the areas of your life that aren’t working will work out naturally
However, sometimes I still get caught up in the little annoyances of life. Let’s face it: It’s human to get annoyed! So I’m extra appreciative that my husband and I once got stuck in an elevator together.
You may be thinking, “Hold up, Gabby! What’s so great about being stuck in an elevator? Sounds kind of scary to me!” And to be honest, it was … at first. (My husband in particular is not a fan of small spaces.)
The elevator incident came on a day when I was feeling super stressed, and I was in go-go-go mode. It’s funny how the Universe works, because having to wait for an elevator technician in that small box forced me to pause.
After my initial thought—“Oh, F! How am I going to get through this?”—it dawned on me that I had been given an opportunity from the Universe. With nowhere to go and nothing to do but wait, I decided to act as the lighthouse.
Knowing that my husband is claustrophobic, I took care of him. I gave him a massage; I spoke loving words; I lifted his energy; and I prayed. The more I leaned into the light, the better I felt. My husband became more at ease too. And when I look back at that time of waiting for an elevator tech, I remember it as a divine moment of love.
That’s what happens when we take a moment to appreciate what we have. Even when everything in our life isn’t perfect (in fact, especially then!), we can still take a moment to focus on what IS thriving. And that’s exactly what I teach on this episode of Dear Gabby.
the appreciation game (as taught by abraham-hicks)
In this episode of Dear Gabby, I share the fun exercise that will really get your faucet of appreciation flowing. This is my favorite game! It will adjust your energy and have you feeling good in no time.
in this episode you’ll learn:
- A 5-minute practice to put you into a deep state of appreciation every single day
- How to retrain your brain to stop catastrophizing and start joyfully anticipating the best-case scenario
- A simple prayer to give you instant relief from feelings of chaos
- The true practice of gratitude and appreciation (hint: it’s not just making a gratitude list!)
If you’re feeling like you don’t have much to appreciate right now, this Dear Gabby is especially for you. I want you to hear me on this: Just because something is hard, that doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate it. We can simply see it as an opportunity to learn, to exercise our brain in a different way, and to lean into love with more commitment than ever before. I’ll tell you exactly how to get there, step by step. This is my Thanksgiving gift to you!
