New book sneak peek and freedom from worry? Oooh, this podcast is SUCH a good one.

“I’ve really never had fear of the future at all.”

Said no one ever—except my special guest for this week’s listener Q&A podcast.

Yes, he’s sort of a magical unicorn, but he and I also break down how the rest of us mortals can live like he does—with unshakeable faith in ourselves and our future.

I mean, is there anything more peaceful than the idea of never again worrying about your future? I feel my shoulders drop just typing that.

Plus—while recording this episode, I spontaneously decided to share an exclusive sneak peek from my upcoming book. Something one of my listeners said made me want to share it, fully raw and unedited. It just felt right, and I’m so glad I did. I can’t wait to share it with you! I’ll share a bit of it in this blog, too—but you have to listen to the episode to get the whole excerpt.

how to release your fear of the future

My guest for this episode didn’t plan on being a guest. His name is Wolf Taylor, and he’s the sound engineer at WTF Studios. I always request him because he has such an incredibly chill, serene presence. I instantly feel calmer when I’m around him, which is a good thing when recording. When I first got to the studio, we were discussing tapping for anxiety, and I asked everyone around to rate their anxiety on a scale of 0 to 10, with 10 being the highest. Without hesitation, Wolf said, “Zero.”

“You live in zero,” I joked, but that’s actually pretty accurate for him. He’s used to recording other people, but I had to turn the microphone on him to find out how he is able to live with such a complete lack of anxiety and fear of the future. He was nice enough to share.

Wolf was fortunate to have a mother who instilled unshakeable faith in him from day one. She repeatedly encouraged him, telling him he could handle everything and that he was going to grow up to be a beautiful, impactful soul. She never had any doubt in him, and thus, he never doubted himself.

he was conditioned to believe that he was going to have a great future

And guess what that type of positive conditioning is a form of?

Manifesting.

Consciously or unconsciously, his mom was manifesting a great future for him, and taught him to manifest it for himself. A bright future became a core belief for Wolf.

(This is the part where we channel Napoleon Dynamite and say, “Luckyyyyyy!”)

Of course, very few of us had parents like that.

But that doesn’t mean we can’t adopt Wolf’s mindset.

We can be that parent for ourselves.

We can instill an unshakeable faith in ourselves. We can create a core belief that we are worthy of greatness, and that greatness is in our future.

If you want to change your life, you have to change your beliefs.

gabby

If you’re currently conditioned by trauma, scarcity and fear, this requires a quantum shift. It certainly did for me. I was raised with a lot of financial insecurity and childhood trauma. I had to make a radical, quantum shift in my system of belief so I could change my thought patterns and, ultimately, change my life.

I had to choose to believe something different.

Did you miss out on having a parent condition you the way Wolf’s mother did? Do you want a do-over?

You can have it! Here’s your Dear Gabby moment: Choose to believe in yourself and your future. It’s a choice. It’s a conscious, deliberate choice that you have to make over and over and over.

You might not believe it at first. After all, did Wolf’s mom know for sure that he was going to have greatness in his future? She didn’t have quantifiable, undeniable, hard proof, of course, but she chose to believe it. And she kept choosing to believe it. And she therefore behaved in a way that carved a path toward that greatness.

I’m sure you’ve heard some version of the adage, “Whether you think you’re going to fail or succeed, you’re right.”

That’s a bit of a cliché, but there’s so much truth to it.

it’s not about snapping your fingers once and creating instant greatness.

I’d love to tell you that this quantum shift in thinking and belief creates instant results. But I’d be wasting your time if I did.

Wolf is the first to tell you that this is a process. For him, it was a lifetime. For any of us, it’s not too late to start.

And how do we start? We were able to cover some major strategies through each of this week’s callers, anchoring those strategies in their real-life scenarios. And I know you’ll be able to relate to at least one of their stories.

My first caller said she is struggling with the feeling that she doesn’t have a sense of purpose. “I don’t know what I’m meant to do here,” she said. That is a perfect example of future-tripping, because if you feel purposeless, you feel unmoored—like any single action you take might be the wrong one, but you can’t be sure. How could you not feel anxiety in that state? My response was so simple but powerful, and it’s one that anyone can use.

My second caller has huge dreams, but is concerned that her dreams are bigger than her reality. She said she has been letting other people’s influence—and her real-life circumstances—“dim her light.” You might be surprised at what I told her.

Finally, my third caller is bogged down by anxiety and fear about the future. Even when good things happen to her, she’s unable to fully enjoy them because she feels like they won’t last. (Relatable!) For her, it stems from a very difficult, traumatic past. (Also relatable.) It was this call that prompted me to pull up raw, unedited copy from my upcoming book.

The book will be available in fall 2024, but I’m so excited to share some draft copy with you. I chose this passage, which I’d drafted literally the morning we recorded the podcast, because of my belief that prayer evokes choice. Prayer reminds us that we have a choice to stay stuck in the loop of the past or to choose the present.

Here’s part of what I read:

For nearly two decades, I’ve repeated this prayer from A Course in Miracles:

I choose to see peace instead of this.

This prayer offers me the ability to temporarily pivot out of the protector’s loop [for more explanation of protectors, check out episodes 144 & 145 for discussions of Internal Family Therapy Systems!], establish a new baseline, and check in. This prayer offers me the slightest bit of relief from the perpetual loop of my protectors, the fearful story, the trauma from the past.

Each time I pray, I temporarily suspend my protector’s control and experience  a fleeting moment of clarity. That moment is enough to remember that I have  a choice. That I can choose again. Accepting that we have a choice can be a life-changing shift right here, right now.

Consider the idea that you can surrender through a prayer. You can temporarily turn over your will and allow a presence of love to take over. When we pray, we can forget what we think we need and clear space for creative possibilities. Prayer offers us a spiritual connection to the ever-present peace inside Self (with a capital S).

When we pray for choice, we pause and step back, witnessing ourselves from the outside in, seeing the protector through a different lens.

Prayer offers us a subtle shift inward. The slightest redirect is enough to set the self-help practice in motion. Even the slightest pivot is a prayer.

I read more in the episode, and I also reveal the title of the book. I can’t wait for you to hear it!

in this episode, I’ll share:

  • How I shift my thoughts and beliefs out of fear and toward what I want for the future
  • The full raw, unedited section of my book that I spontaneously decided to share with a listener
  • How to handle the feeling that you don’t have a sense of purpose
  • What to do when your dreams feel too big for reality
  • How to get connected with my free webinar to help you write a bestselling book
  • The title of my NEW book—and a powerful passage you don’t want to miss

If that sounds like a lot to cover, that’s because it is. This episode was jam-packed with amazing content. My closing words were, “What a gorgeous episode. Whew! Thank you all. This was so beautiful.”

weekly card reading

I was wondering if something about surrender would come up in the card reading this week, and in many ways, this is better.

My happiness is a direct reflection of my level of faith in the universe.

Okay, how good is this?!

I wrote this universal lesson in my book The Universe Has Your Back:

Our happiness, success and safety can be measured by our genuine capacity to tune in to the loving vibration of the Universe.

Faith in the Universe is everything. The moment you realign with love and stop relying on your own strength, clear direction will be presented. The presence of love will always cast out fear.

Being in union with the energy of the Universe is like an awesome dance where you trust your partner so much that you just surrender to the beat of the music. When you begin to dance with the energy of the Universe, your life flows naturally, incredible synchronicity presents itself, creative solutions abound and you experience freedom.

Hey there. Welcome to Dear Gabby. I'm your host, Gabby Bernstein, and if you landed here, it is absolutely no accident. It means that you're ready to feel good and manifest a life beyond your wildest dreams. Let's get started.

Welcome back to the show everybody. Today's episode is very different than others. I actually hijacked my studio operator Wolf, and I brought him into the episode with me. I started asking you a million questions because he's literally the most chill person I've ever met, and so this was a whole episode on future-tripping.

And I was asking Wolf all these questions about does he have future fears? And he gave some really profound stories about how his mother taught him to really trust in the universe. And so we riff for a while on how to really maintain that sense of faith and trust in what's coming.

And then I went in and I brought in all these different guests, and at one point in response to one of my guests talking about future tripping and how to be more in the present, I opened a Google Drive and I started reading an unedited passage from my forthcoming book. It'll be out in December of 2024. The book is called Self-Help, and I started reading from the book, so if you want like a hardcore sneak peek into this chapter in a book that's not even edited yet, then this is your episode.

If you're someone who is future tripping, if you are out there trying to control things, if you think when I have that thing or that boyfriend or that money, then I'll be happy. Or if you're afraid of the future or you're trying to control the future, I think everybody out there can raise their hand.

This is your episode. I want you to listen. Take your time with this one. Listen to it maybe twice, and share it with your friends because this is an episode that's going to rock your world and support you in ways that you could not even imagine. So listen up. Enjoy the show, and get psyched for the little preview of my book.

GABBY: Wolf, do you ever future trip, like get really hung up about the future? You're gonna say no. I know you're gonna say that. But is that, are you gonna say no?

WOLF: I'm gonna say no for sure.

GABBY: But how do you not, man? How do you not?

WOLF: I feel very confident about what the future holds for me.

GABBY: Beautiful.

WOF: Yeah. To be honest, I'm not anxious about the future at all.

GABBY: Where do you think you get that confidence from?

WOLF: Definitely from my mom speaking life into me at a young age. She kind of assured me of who I would be. Who I would become early and also just small progresses over time, just made me feel more and more comfortable with the idea of me becoming is gonna happen.

GABBY: Me becoming is gonna happen.

WOLF: Yeah.

GABBY: What did your mom teach you?

WOLF: She just taught me that I would be a great man one day. She instilled that in me extremely early. So I believed it. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I believed it.

GABBY: Did she teach you a, uh, spiritual or, or, or religious faith?

WOLF: Yeah, she just told me that, like, my mom has a story that one day she went into church.

It was her first time going to the church. She was just looking for a new church home. And, um, the preacher, before she could even find a seat to sit down, the preacher just stopped this entire sermon and just pointed to her and was like, your son is gonna be essentially a, a great man. He's gonna be a leader, he's gonna be somebody people follow.

And um, she just instilled that in me just various things just like that, so…

GABBY: Wow. Wow. Well, I can testify to that because we've worked together well, like three or four times now, five times maybe. And from day one that I met you, and sorry to put you on the spot and make you talk on the mic, but—

WOLF: No, it's good.

GABBY: You're here to do big things. I've felt that energy from you from the moment that we met. So much so that we request to be in the studio with you. And I think that that message of greatness. That message of accepting our greatness and conditioning ourselves to believe in that greatness and not in like a phony way. In a genuine way.

WOLF: Yeah. For sure.

GABBY: Not everybody's blessed to have a mother like you have.

WOLF: That's true.

GABBY: But, can we be that for ourselves? Can we be that internal parent for ourselves now?

WOLF: You have to be.

GABBY: We have to be. I just wanna really reflect back to you that that conditioning is actually manifesting.

That's where worldly successes come from. Not from—yeah, hard work and good work—but really from a inner core belief system, belief system of I'm worthy.

WOLF: It has to be, it's unnegotiable. It has to be there.

GABBY: It has to be there. And so do you have friends and stuff in your life that like don't have that unshakable faith?

WOLF: A hundred percent.

GABBY: What do we, what would you say to them?

WOLF: I mean, I. I feel like I've said everything I could say to them.

GABBY: Yeah. Go listen to Dear Gabby.

WOLF: Yeah. I've, I've said everything I could say, some people just understand, some people want it and some people don't. And that's, that's the hard lessons I've, I've learned.

GABBY: There you go.

That's it. If you wanna change your beliefs about your life and you wanna change your life, you have to change the way you believe. And if you wanna change your beliefs, you have to want it. I think the desire is the operative word.

Right? The want.

WOLF: Yeah. You gotta want it.

GABBY: Because if you're, not really committed to that desire, you can't make that change.

WOLF: Yeah. You can't make it.

GABBY: Yeah. I really want you today to be a power of example for the listeners, because let's just say the gift that you were given was this unshakable faith in your future. And not everybody has that, but we can have a quantum shift and experience that if we choose for it.

WOLF: Yeah, for sure.

GABBY: I definitely had that quantum shift in my own life where I was brought up with a lot of uncertainty, financial fear. A lot of traumatic events in my childhood, a lot of things that would have put me on the wrong path, and in many ways did, early days. But I did have that quantum shift where I chose to believe something different.

And I've always loved this quote, this Joan of Arc quote. I am not afraid; I was born to do this. And I wanna let that inspire today's q and a with our listeners, how we can have a quantum shift and move from any feelings of uncertainty and doubt to unshakable faith. So we can be a Wolf.

[LAUGHS]

WOLF That's an honor.

GABBY: Well, that's, that's our show today.

How can we live with unshakable faith and how can we trust in our future, when our past has given us so much to not trust, or so much fear, so much suffering, how can we have faith in a future?

I wanna bring that topic in big time today because there's so much suffering and a lot of the suffering that we're experiencing in the world, in our personal lives, collectively, a lot of that suffering is the repetition of old behavior, the repetition of belief systems from very, very young.

The more we build that momentum around those belief systems, the more those belief systems become our reality. In the case of Wolf here, you can hear he was given the gift of a belief system, believing in himself, having faith, having a attachment bond to a parent who said, you got this, man.

You're gonna be a beautiful, impactful soul. And that became the story of his life. Not a lot of us were pulled aside and we didn't have Wolf's mom. So how can we start to activate that presence in our own life right here, right now? Do you wanna redo? Does everybody wanna redo? Do you wanna redo of your belief systems?

Do you wanna resurrect your thinking? Let Wolf be your inspiration today. Let's hear from our guests. I wanna hear from our guests. I wanna hear how I can give you a Dear Gabby moment of choosing to believe in yourself and your future. Let's go.

[AD BREAK]

And now a quick ad break. I don't know about you, but I am definitely, definitely one of those people who gets caught up in the moment, and I always end up starting to subscribe to everything. I'm like, yes, I want a 30-day trial, or yes, I want that free five day thing. And I always, always forget to cancel my subscriptions and oftentimes I can't even figure out where or how to cancel them.

And my husband drives me crazy cuz he's like, you just have to go into the app store. You know, he gives me all these reasons to get it all done. I just never can figure it out. So for me, more often than not, I will also just forget to do it, and I recently found out this crazy statistic that 80% of people have subscriptions that they forget about, and this drives me crazy.

It's wasting my money. It's like totally messing up my inbox. I'm not happy about it. So I started using Rocket Money, which is no joke, unbelievably amazing if this is your issue. So Rocket Money will help you find those forgotten subscriptions so that you can finally once and for all stop paying for the things you don't want.

And Rocket Money is a personal finance app that finds and cancels your unwanted subscriptions. It monitors your spending and helps you lower your bills, all in one place. So recently I traveled and I had some major travel essentials in my bag, and one of them was my Cymbiotika liposomal vitamin C. No joke, like my entire bag was filled with them. Cymbiotika is the most sophisticatedly designed formulations that are really amazing because they're clinically proven to increase vitality and longevity by filling in the nutritional gaps that result from our modern day diet.

And so, when I'm traveling, I rely on it. And day-to-day I do too. And I can tell you firsthand, it's really, really effective. This brand is all about the research and very, very committed to creating the best product possible. Actually, even had the founder of the brand on the show, we had a whole deep dive into the product and into other things like gut health and all kinds of microbiome, and we got nerdy.

And Cymbiotika’s Super Greens is also one of my favorites of their products. It's an easy and convenient way to support cellular detoxification and boost your energy levels. And I love their magnesium L threonate, their liposomal vitamin C and their vitamin D3K2, CoQ-10. I literally don't go a day without it.

And I, like I said, when I was traveling, I packed a huge bag with all of my beautiful Cymbiotika and this product contains the highest quality plant-based materials that are compatible with the human body and essential for activating over 3000 genes associated with longevity.

[END AD BREAK]

KRISTEN: Hello.

GABBY: Hi. How are you doing?

KRISTEN: Good. How are you, Gabby?

GABBY: Have you been on the show before?

KRISTEN: I have, yes.

GABBY: Welcome back, Kristen. How's it going? How can I help you?

KRISTEN: Um, well the, the anxiety relief that you did on the, um, previous episode really helped me and I've recently started to take, um, some medication for anxiety and I was really, really hesitant to, to do that.

But I've been starting to feel relief. I've also, on a previous episode, you told me to every evening to ask for some help from my guides to fall asleep, and that's been really helping. But I'm just feeling really, as much as I don't future trip, I think I still do on a certain level of not knowing what I'm meant to do here.

GABBY: What if I told you that what you're meant to do here right now is to just focus on your wellbeing and your sense of safety inside?

KRISTEN: That feels good.

GABBY: That feels good to you?

KRISTEN: That feels good.

GABBY: That's it, babe, because without that steadiness inside, we can't be a channel through which we receive good orderly direction. God.

We won't be able to receive the intuitive messages of this is your next right action. This is your impact. This is your purpose. This is your joy. This is your path. Without that settled sense of certainty. So anyone that's listening is like, I really don't know where I should be going in life or what my purpose is.

Well, that's not actually what we wanna focus on right now. The focus has to be on, my purpose is to feel good. My purpose is to get into a state of serenity and do whatever it takes to get there. Whether it be medication, whether it be tapping, whether it be listening to Dear Gabby, meditating with me, whatever it takes to get there. Therapy.

I'm gonna do whatever it takes to get closer to consciousness. And in that commitment, you actually are on the path to downloading your highest purpose in this lifetime that is gonna come to you when you're still enough to hear it. So keep doing what you're doing, all of the above.

Congratulations on making the commitment. To get psychiatric support that you needed. Congratulations on doing the meditations at night with your guides. I'm proud of you for feeling relief from the Anxiety Tapping episode.

Congratulations. You're doing great. You're living your purpose right now.

KRISTEN: Thanks, Gabby.

GABBY: How do you feel right now?

KRISTEN: Good. Really good. That feels good and real. And I think I needed to hear that.

GABBY: Yeah. Real, right? Nice, my love. Keep coming back. Kristen. I wanna hear all of what comes for you. I'm proud of you.

KRISTEN: Thank you.

GABBY: Thank you, love.

KRISTEN: I love you, Gabby.

GABBY: I love you, sweetheart. Thank you for being back.

Beautiful, Kristen, who is next? Hi sweetheart. How are you doing? How can I help you?

CALLER: Hi Gabby. Oh my gosh. I can't believe I'm on. I'm on here. So this is my first time actually tuning into the show live.

GABBY: Oh, wow.

CALLER: Yeah. I'm just, I'm really grateful And, um, basically I'm on this journey where, um, you know, I quit my job not too long ago, and I guess I, I finally saw my light, almost like the future that was actually meant for me.

And it's so exciting that it's overwhelming too, at the same time. I want it all, like, I want to tour as a motivational speaker. I want to be a bestselling author, have a podcast eventually. But you know, there's moments of that self-doubt that creeps in and my dreams are bigger than my surroundings right now.

GABBY: Okay.

CALLER: So it's kind of hard because I believe in me, but sometimes I let what other people are telling me influence that. And that dims my light a little bit, if that makes sense.

GABBY: Yeah. So you feel that your dreams are bigger than your surroundings? Ooh, I have so much I wanna say to you, this is kind of where we can lose sight of our spiritual connection when we look at our outside circumstances to define what's possible.

My dreams are bigger than my surroundings right now. Okay. Well, in order to co-create the dreams that we desire at a pace that is realistic. Not even realistic isn't even the word, at a pace that is of our highest good, right? I always would joke around like early in my twenties and I was starting out at 25.

I need to be on Oprah. I wanna be on Oprah. Well, it was about eight years later that I was on Oprah, maybe six years later that I was interviewed by Oprah. Okay. Yeah. I was 30-something, but I was so grateful that it wasn't when I was 25 because I wouldn't have been able to handle that. My ego would've just been blown out by that.

So, trusting the pace, trusting the guidance, trusting the process, trusting the journey, trusting the experiences along the way. Especially if you wanna go out and you wanna be of service and you wanna write books and you wanna be a speaker, you've gotta live the life to teach the the path.

CALLER: Right.

GABBY: So I want you to just make an adjustment today.

And stop looking at your surroundings to be a reflection of what's possible. Open up your conscious awareness to dreaming big and visualizing what it is that you desire. I would sit there on my meditation, pillow, and visualize sitting with Oprah to the point where I'd be brought to tears. I'd see her on my vision board.

I'd listen to music. I felt it. Now I can sit in my bed with my son and watch YouTube and he can watch Oprah saying, Gabrielle Bernstein. And he'll just walk around the house, go Gabrielle Bernstein. You know? So your visions become your reality. If you just hold them, hold them close, bring momentum to them, and then in the world, in the real world out there, not in that spiritual realm, but in the day-to-day earthly experience that we have, you take small right actions towards that big vision.

You show up with that faith, you take one step at a time. I think that we could hear from Wolf. I think Wolf, that's probably the case for you, right? Babe? You had a vision and you continue to hold a vision and you just take small actions daily towards that vision.

It's not like you're trying to like, you know, be producing Howard Stern tonight.

WOLF: I'm not trying to conquer the world in a night.

GABBY: Not in a night. Not in a night. It's one small right action at a time. I'm gonna give you something. I want you to take this free webinar that I have about four secrets to your bestselling book, and I think that that webinar in itself is a great first right action that you could take for the next six weeks or six months, however long you wanna do it.

Just tap into that daily, and that could be a small right action towards that goal. So I want you to be able to take yourself to that webinar, enjoy it, and go back to it, and go back to it, and go back to it and do it over a long period of time where you watch it, you go use the lessons, you apply them, you take one step at a time, one step at a time.

Because these resources that we have are the small actions we can take each day. So right now I'm giving you full permission to dream big, to hold big visions, to use my vision-making meditations to come back again and again. And most importantly, to remember that your visions are actually far more powerful than you think.

When you hold a vision that makes you feel inspired and ignited, you are manifesting. When you meditate on the vision that makes you feel inspired and ignited, you are manifesting. When you take a small action towards the vision that you are excited and elevated and connected to, you are manifesting.

It's much more simple than we make it. Okay, deargabby.com/secrets is the URL that you can head to. Put it in the show notes. This is where you can get a free webinar with me on how to write and market your bestselling book, the Four Secrets to Your Bestseller. Do this. This is a great beginning step towards identifying your message, your audience, your mission, what it is that you wanna share.

This will help you not just with a book, but also with what you wanna speak about. And the vision of the world that you wanna create for your life. So, my love, hold the vision. Take the small actions. Don't edit your vision. Don't judge your vision. Just expand it.

GABBY: Hi, how are you sweetheart?

CALLER: Hi, I'm so grateful to be here.

I actually thought that I was gonna be here and, and I've been messaging you and I'm so grateful I can't contain my excitement. But my question for you today is, so how do we not let our past define our future? And how do we stop fearing something bad's gonna happen when something good has been happening?

And I'm not used to it cause I've had so much fear and trauma from my childhood that I keep thinking of the good things that are happening. I'm gonna lose it.

GABBY: Yeah. Ah. How can we have faith in the future when so much has happened in the past, and so you just mentioned that you've had trauma in your past and that now good things are coming to you, but you can't believe in them yet.

It takes time for our nervous system to catch up with our healing. When we've experienced trauma, complex trauma in our past, particularly as children, it's very stuck in our body. It's stuck in our, in our brain. And the more we practice these kinds of personal development methods and reading books like my book, Happy Days, The Guided Path from Trauma to Profound Freedom and Inner Peace, listening to our episodes on trauma, whatever the journey's been, therapeutic journey, spiritual journey, we start to chip away at those old belief systems.

And we start to heal and undo and create new neural pathways, adjusting our energy and our brain. But it takes time. It's a slow process. There's some exciting new things happening in the medical fields and psychiatric fields where these kinds of processes can be accelerated. I'm gonna have to do episodes on that.

It's a process to undo the historic traumas from the past. So I want you to recognize the moments of grace. I want you to recognize the moments when you feel that you're present. Do you feel like you're present with me right here? Right now?

CALLER: I'm fully present, but I wanted to ask you if there's a prayer that I can say.

That you have in the moments when I have negative thoughts and I start spiraling and yeah, then it kinda makes me feel like I'm gonna bring those fears into reality and take away all of the good that I've created. So is there any prayer that I could say?

GABBY: I love that you're answering your own question because when we're still undoing the neurological effects of trauma and the physiological effects of trauma, we can have those moments where we're in our adult resources, parts and self and say, oh, I'm okay. I'm safe. But then we can very easily get pulled back into the loop of the fear and the storyline and the triggers, and so prayer.

This is what I've been writing about in my new book today. Prayer evokes choice. Prayer reminds us that we have a choice to stay stuck in the loop of the past or to choose the present. And so I just wanna greatly thank you for bringing this topic in because it's literally what I've been writing about today.

In fact, I might even pull up my phone and just read something to you guys that could be really cool. Just some like raw unedited from the book. We'll see what comes through. A prayer. I'll just give you this, a prayer for choice. I choose to see peace instead of this, and that's the prayer I've been leaning into for my life and my trauma recovery.

And in those moments when I feel flooded, I choose to see peace instead of this, that prayer offers me choice. It reminds me that I can turn inward. It reminds me that I can tend to the younger parts of myself and that I don't have to be the victim of the past and I can be present in the future. And I can be present in this moment, releasing the future, grounded, present, and at ease.

Let me see what I can get for you from the book. Hold on. You ready? Let's see what comes through. I love reading my new books that I'm working on when I'm in the process. So cool. It's called, Choice is a Prayer. Here we go. For nearly two decades, I've repeated this prayer from A Course in Miracles. I choose to see peace instead of this.

This prayer offers me the ability to temporarily pivot out of the protector's loop, establish a new baseline, and check in. This prayer offers me the slightest bit of relief from the perpetual loop of my protectors, the fearful story, the trauma from the past. Each time I pray, I temporarily suspend my protector's control and experience a fleeting moment of clarity.

That moment is enough to remember that I have a choice that I can choose again. Accepting that we have a choice can be a life-changing shift right here, right now. Consider the idea that you can surrender through a prayer. You can temporarily turn over your will and allow a presence of love to take over.

When we pray, we can forget what we think we need, and clear space for creative possibilities. Prayer offers us a spiritual connection to the ever-present peace inside self with a capital S. When we pray for choice, we pause and step back, witnessing ourselves from the outside in seeing the protector through a different lens.

Prayer offers us a subtle shift inward. The slightest redirect is enough to set the self-help practice in motion. Even the slightest pivot is a prayer. I wrote that this morning at 8:00 AM with a coffee. It's a passage from my new book, Self-Help.

Book Title Reveal.

Maybe we revealed it before. I don't know. That's my book title. Self-Help. I like to add this. A prayer is a simple request. Prayer is the conduit for self energy, which is that love-God energy. A prayer is a simple request, a moment of surrender. Anytime you've said or thought, I can't go on like this, or there has to be a better way, that's a prayer.

The conscious desire for help is a prayer. Prayer opens our conscious awareness to the possibility of choice. Each time we pray to see love instead of fear, we open our conscious awareness to a new perception that reminds us of the choice we have to turn inward. And turning inward is scary, and often the last thing we want to do when we're triggered.

In most cases, it's not even a logical option because we've become so blended with the protector that we can't see any other choice but to stay stuck managing our big feelings.

But the more we pray and pause, we become aware of the power of choice. Each prayer is an act of surrender that opens our consciousness to possibility and check in rather than remain checked out.

So you asked for it, baby. That's your prayer. I choose to see peace instead of this. Really nice. Thank you for bringing that in today. That was perfect. Sending you a lot of love, sweetie. So let's wrap up that show. This show is, I just wanna say thank you to Wolf for being the intro to this beautiful episode and to the guests that have joined us. I'm gonna close the show with just another passage from this chapter in my newest book that will be out in 2024. You're getting a real sneak peek now into Self-Help. That's the title When we start to witness and accept that we have the choice to heal in any given moment. We open our awareness to the energy of self.

Without accepting this choice, we live in the belief that we are the victim of our triggers and our reactivity. Becoming aware of our choice gives us the power to know that there's somewhere else to turn that in any given moment we can turn inward. Choice is a muscle we must flex often. The more often we choose to check in, the less time we spend checked out.

And so when we want to change our belief systems and adjust the stories from our past so that we can claim what our presence in this moment can be, the serenity, the peace, the gratitude, the purpose, the wholeness, so that we can have full faith in our future. It begins with that prayer, begins with a choice.

I choose to see peace instead of this. And in that moment we pivot. We remember that we have a choice to turn inward rather than stay stuck in the perpetual loop and stories and beliefs from our past and temporarily suspend those beliefs and remember the presence and the light of who we are right here in this moment, right now.
